Using the ISDN BRI Adapter Module in a Passport

2430 Multiservice Access Switch

This chapter supplements Installing and Operating the Passport 2430

Multiservice Access Switch. Follow the hardware installation steps in that manual,

then refer to this document for information specific to the ISDN BRI adapter

module.

Attaching Cables

Connect the ISDN service cable to the RJ-48C connector on the installed ISDN

BRI adapter module.

You install the ISDN BRI adapter module in one of the two rear-panel WAN

adapter module slots (Figure 4-1). See Installing and Operating the Passport 2430

Multiservice Access Switch for the complete installation procedure.

Note:

ISDN BRI adapter modules with an S/T interface provide connection to

the ISDN network through a terminal adapter. Modules with a U interface

allow you to connect directly to the ISDN network switch.
