Checking the Token Ring Net Module LEDs

This chapter describes the LEDs on the Dual Token Ring net module. Figure 2-1

shows the Dual Token Ring net module.

Each physical connector (TOKEN1 and TOKEN2) has three LEDs that indicate

the status of the connection. T

able 2-1 describes each LED.

Table 2-1. Functions of the Dual Token Ring Net Module LEDs

LED Function

RCVR Indicates that data is being received across the Token Ring

connection.

NSRT Indicates that the port is inserted into a ring.

WFAIL Indicates a wire fault, for example, a problem with the cable.

F (FAIL) Lights during power-up, and might ﬂash during diagnostic testing.

The FAIL LED turns off once the diagnostics complete successfully

and the router boots.

The LED remains lit if the net module or any connector on the net

module fails diagnostics. In this case, the DIAG LED on the ASN

front panel will also be on.
