Function: Speciﬁes when the agent generates a threshold event.

Instructions: Select Greaterthan if you want to record threshold events when the value

of the variable is greater than the threshold speciﬁed.

Select Lessthan if you want to record threshold events when the value of

the variable is less than the threshold speciﬁed.

Parameter: Threshold Max Successive Alarms

Default: 5

Options: Any integer value

Function: Speciﬁes the maximum number of successive alarms that the agent

generates for this variable. A successive alarm represents two or more

polling periods when the agent generates an alarm as a result of an

exception at the same threshold level.

Instructions: Specify the maximum number of successive alarms. When the agent

exceeds the maximum number of alarms, it marks the threshold as held.

The agent generates no more alarms until the variable either crosses the

threshold at a different level or crosses no threshold for the number of

polling intervals equal to the value of the Threshold HoldDown Intervals

parameter.
