Specifying the DHCP Server IP Address
To ensure that the DHCP server on the router can communicate with the NetID
Server Manager, you must specify a local IP address that the DHCP server can use
to identify itself to the NetID Server Manager. This address must correspond to
the address of an actual local IP interface configured on the router. This address
cannot be a circuitless IP address.
You can use the BCC or Site Manager to specify a local IP address for the DHCP
server.
Using the BCC
To specify a local IP address for the DHCP server, go to the global DHCP prompt
(for example,
box; ip; dhcp
) and enter:
loc-ipaddr
<ip_address>
ip_address
specifies the IP address that the DHCP server uses to identify itself to
the NetID Server Manager serving this DHCP server.
For example, the following command specifies the IP address 20.20.20 for the
DHCP server:
dhcp#
loc-ipaddr 20.20.20.20
dhcp#
4. Choose
Global.
