UNIX node A physical workstation in the Avaya MPS network.
Each node is made up of SPARC hardware and SPARC and MPS
software. A UNIX node can be configured as an MPS; multiple MPSs
can be configured on a single UNIX node.
For additional information, see the Avaya MPS PeriView Reference
Manual and the Avaya MPS System Reference Manual.

VOS processes.
See also VOS, process.
UTS 400 Universal Terminal System 400 Interface. An Avaya MPS supported
host communications protocol.
The Avaya MPS uses a separate comm. processor to communicate
with a Univac host system. The software loaded into the comm.
processor provides all of the necessary logic for emulation of a UTS
4040 Cluster Controller supporting the UTS 400 protocol. Up to four
comm. processors can be installed in an Avaya MPS system, each
operating independently and capable of supporting separate
protocols.
Also known as Sperry Univac Universal Terminal System 400
protocol and Uniscope protocol.
See also host, comm. processor.
