non-sequential access A method of accessing pooled VTs. For non-sequential access, the
system maintains a list of available VTs. Upon request from an
application, COMMGR assigns the first VT on the list. When the
application frees the VT, it goes to the end of the list.
Also known as the round robin technique.
Contrast with sequential access.
