Disabling and Reenabling an Area
When you define an OSPF area, the area is automatically enabled. You can use the
BCC or Site Manager to disable and reenable the area.
Using the BCC
To disable or reenable an area, navigate to an OSPF area prompt (for example,
box; ip; ospf; area/0.0.0.0
) and enter:
state
<state>
state
is either:
enabled
(default)
disabled
For example, this command disables area 0.0.0.1:
area/0.0.0.1#
state disabled
area/0.0.0.1#
Using Site Manager
To disable or reenable an OSPF area, complete the following tasks:
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose
Protocols
.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. Choose
IP
. The IP menu opens.
3. Choose
OSPF/MOSPF
. The OSPF/MOSPF menu opens.
4. Choose
Areas
. The OSPF Areas window opens.
5. Click on the area that you want to edit. The parameter values for that area
appear in the OSPF Areas window.
6. Set the
Enable
parameter. Click on
Help
or see the parameter description on page
A-49
.
7. Click on
Apply
, and then click on
Done
. You return to the Configuration Manager
window.
